As you may have already heard, local winemaking pioneers Nat and Rosalie White are retiring after 40 years at Main Ridge Estate. We take on the business from the 16th December, and will be living on the premises from that date.

We are very excited by this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop the next chapter in the history of one of Australia’s most respected small wine estates. We are also delighted that Nat will be continuing with the business as a consultant in the vineyard and winery, ensuring the Main Ridge Estate traditions and style are maintained. He will be a perfect mentor to our son James in his role as estate manager and future winemaker. We are also pleased that 15 year Main Ridge Estate veteran Linda Hodges will be continuing as assistant winemaker.

By way of a family introduction, we have extensive backgrounds in hospitality venues and events, restaurants and tourism. James is a commerce graduate from the Blue Mountains International Hotel School, and an experienced restaurant manager and sommelier, having worked for the past 10 years leading hatted restaurants. With a change in career direction in mind James has commenced a wine science degree at Charles Sturt University, just as Nat did 40 years ago! We will all be active and
hands-on in in the Main Ridge Estate business.

Over the past six months we have been spending a lot of time at Main Ridge Estate, and have been thoroughly inducted by Nat and Rosalie. During that time we have started to get to know the wonderful local community, and are very appreciative of the warm welcomes and support we have received.

We have an exciting time ahead – a new home, a new career step and very recently, our first grandson, Marlowe, born to our daughter Emily!

Our best wishes for the coming Christmas and New Year, and please come to Main Ridge Estate and say hello.

– Tim and Libby
