Main Ridge Estate Team
In the tradition established by Nat and Rose White, we continue to operate Main Ridge Estate as a small ‘hands -on’ family wine business.
- James makes and sells our wine, and studies his Wine Science degree in his spare time!
- Linda maintains the vineyard and assists James with winemaking.
- Libby is chief accountant, gardener and housekeeper.
- Tim is marketing manager, does spreadsheets, cooks, and fights with the pumps!
- We all work in the cellar door at weekends, ably supported by Jude our kitchenhand.
- Throughout the year we are backed up by a great team of contractors who help us maintain the property and pick grapes during vintage.
Our successful transition to life at Main Ridge Estate has been greatly supported by Nat and Rose, local winemakers and the wonderful Red Hill community.
Following in the family footsteps, James completed a hotel management and commerce degree at the Blue Mountains Hotels school in 2006, and went on to develop his career in Sydney restaurants, firstly with the Merivale Group, then at the renowned Sepia restaurant, and finally as restaurant manager at the two hatted Oscillate Wildly in Newtown. James was the 2011 Electrolux Young Waiter of the Year.
During this time he gradually developed his wine knowledge, working as a sommelier. James hospitality experience has proven an ideal background to follow in Nat White’s formidable footsteps. James is well advanced in his wine science degree at Charles Sturt university.
Commencing at Main Ridge Estate in 2001, Linda is our viticulturalist, assistant winemaker, and very much part of the family.
Linda has deep knowledge of every aspect of our business, and has been a key contributor to the successful continuity of winemaking traditions from Nat to James.
Linda holds a Diploma of Wine Technology from Melbourne University’s Dookie College, and has her own Four Hundred Vines property in Balnarring.
Tim and Libby Sexton
We met as hotel management students at William Angliss College in Melbourne and in 1977 graduated from Westminster Hotel School in London. Then followed four decades of careers in the hospitality and tourism business, working in large scale catering, events, international hotels and travel, both in Australia and overseas.
We retired from corporate life in 2014 and took a ‘gap year’ with a view to an active semi-retirement on the Mornington Peninsula. By wonderful good luck, the first place we came across was Main Ridge Estate!
Now into our fifth year here, we are delighted with the good life we enjoy in our idyllic Red Hill home.
