As we head toward our third vintage, we are looking forward to another busy Summer, after a wet and cool Winter and Spring here in Red Hill.

Following a slow start to the growing season, the vineyard and garden are looking magnificent, and the scene is set for another great harvest in 2018.

Attica at Main Ridge Estate

Attica at Main Ridge Estate VIP Event

We were delighted to have recently hosted a very successful VIP event, with Australia’s leading chef Ben Shewry and the Attica team in our kitchen!

The guests enjoyed wine tastings lead by James and Linda (along with and a cameo appearance by Nat White) – in the vineyard and barrel cellar. The long table progressive lunch was served in the vineyard and winery.

Main Ridge Estate 2010 Pinot Meunier featured on the menu, paired with a dish titled ‘All parts of the Pumpkin’.

Peninsula Summer Music Festival

‘Dancing Guitars’
Join two of the worlds guitar virtuosos, Massimo Scallion and Andrea Vettoretti on Thursday 4 January for two concerts at 4pm and 6.30pm, in the intimate setting of the Main Ridge Estate winery.

The program includes tango, love themes and finishes with a dramatic classical guitar duo. Go to www.peninsulafestival.com.au for tickets.

Summer Chardonnay & Seafood lunch

On Sunday 19th February 2018 from Noon, we will celebrate the release of the 2016 Main Ridge Estate Chardonnay with a casual seafood lunch in the winery and garden – a perfect match for a warm Summer afternoon. Furthur event and menu details will be announced in January.
If you would like to make a reservation or get more information now, please call Libby on 03-9589-2686.

Summer Art Exhibition

Continuing our series of exhibitions by local artists, we are pleased to have recent works by Kristin Haskett hanging in the cellar door. Kristin’s landscapes of Central Australia are about her memories and feelings of experiences there.
Kristin was a prizewinner in the 2017 Pro Hart Outback Art Prize

Wine stock availability

Compared to the small 2014, and 2015 vintages (2015 Half Acre – Jeremy Oliver – 97 points), 2016 was relatively big year and so we pleased to have stock of both Pinot Noirs moving into the holiday season, which will be good news to the many cellar door visitors who missed out last year! A 6 bottle Pinot Noir limit per customer will apply from 1st January 2018.
The 2015 Chardonnay currently on release (James Halliday – 97 points) is in short supply and a limit of 6 bottles to each customer applies now.

The 2016 Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Meunier will be released in February 2018.

Seasons Greetings

2017 has been a year of many highlights: Nat’s well deserved Order of Australia honour, the very positive response to the 2016 Pinot Noir – our first release, another wonderful vintage in 2017 (which is already looking very good in the barrel), James doing well in his Wine Science studies at Charles Sturt University, home renovations finally behind us…and a 2 year old grandson who loves our tractors!

We continue to receive incredible support from Mornington winemakers, the local community, and our loyal customers, for which we are very grateful.

With best wishes for a very happy and peaceful Christmas and New Year, and we would love to see you in the cellar door this Summer.
