Winter 2018 has been wild, wet and windy in Red Hill, but no complaints, as our thoughts go out to the drought stricken farmers of New South Wales.

The Winter months are for reflection, a time to look back at the year past and plan for the next step of our journey.  Along with pruning, we have been opening up our surrounding clos of trees, to improve airflow and light penetration into the vineyard.  Whilst this should not have a dramatic effect on the character of our grapes, it should hopefully improve the overall quality… the 2019 vintage will be telling!

The 2017 ‘Half Acre’ and ‘The Acre’ Pinot Noir will be released on Saturday 1st September 2018.

As they are now being prepared for bottling, we are seeing the qualities that the cool slow ripening 2017 vintage has provided. Heavily structured, complex and concentrated Pinot Noirs that will excite those who enjoy cellaring.  Details of how to order will be sent to our mailing list in late August.

All the best,

James
