PINOT NOIR HEAVEN!

We are delighted to be releasing our 2022 Main Ridge Estate Pinot Noirs in time for Summer holiday celebrations, gifting, or stocking-up your cellar. The wines are available for purchase online now (see ‘How to Order’ below), or at our cellar door.

The 2023 vintage marked our fourth consecutive year of small crops, a consequence of adverse and erratic weather during the growing seasons. In 2022, we produced just 225 cases of estate grown Pinot Noir, 50% of the usual yield. Like most local winemakers, our wine stocks are at an all-time low, and to keep the cellar door open we have reluctantly imposed purchase limit of 6 bottles of each Pinot Noir per customer.

2022 Main Ridge Estate ‘Half Acre’ Pinot Noir

14%, pH 3.35, T.A. 6.60g/L, Picked 22 and 24 March 2022

Poached plums, black currant and morello cherries, together with oak integrated cinnamon and barley. Firm tannins and a strong line of acid bring together a long-concentrated finish. The wine gently unfurls in the glass, suggesting long cellaring potential.

2022 Main Ridge Estate ‘The Acre’ Pinot Noir

14%, pH 3.46, T.A. 6.30g/L, Picked 22 and 24 March 2022

Bright cherry, raspberry leaf and bergamot flavours. Juicy fruits on the palate blend well with the vanilla oak finish. Silky tannins give the wine wonderful appeal to drink in its youth, however, still has plenty of ageing potential.
